League age, explained
The same kid can be a year older in Little League than in another league. It comes down to the date each league counts from.
August 31 or May 1
Little League sets baseball league age by your kid's age on August 31 of the season year. PONY uses April 30. Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, USSSA, and AAU use May 1, which works out nearly the same as PONY. Kids born from early May through August 31 are where they split. Those kids count a year younger in those leagues than in Little League. Check the calculator for the exact league your kid is registering with.
